Co-design

Peoplehood makes neighbourhoods work better together. Our 'Co-Design sessions' are short meetings that are focused on a specific topic to help gather your thoughts, ideas and opinions. This is an opportunity for you to tell us how we can help your neighbourhood. By working with you in this way, we can understand what’s needed to help make things happen – classes, skills volunteering projects and much more.

What’s involved?

Sometimes you’ll be asked to attend a co-design session virtually (online) and other times the sessions will run in a local venue, where a member of our team or our partners will lead the session and prompt discussions, either by posing some questions or by running an activity designed to explore your ideas and opinions. You are not expected to have any prior experience of attending such a session but as long as you are happy to chat about things that matter to you and have a desire to see changes in your local area, your help will be invaluable!

What difference does co-design make?

It can make a big difference to the services you see in your local community. For example, the delivery of our physical activities sessions are influenced by the ideas and opinions of our members. We also learned that many people wished to learn how to use devices in an informal group setting rather than a classroom setting (Hence our Click & Mix sessions). Having a say in the services that are run in your area is hugely important and being able to bring your lived experience and local knowledge can mean that the group learns from each other and ideas are brought together to come up with solutions that we know are needed and wanted.

Creating Healthy And Active Places

In our upcoming co-design session, we will discuss how people see their surrounding areas and how we can turn them into Healthy & Active Places.
