About us

Peoplehood is our 3 year project aimed at making your corner of the world a place where you’re safer, happier and healthier for longer.

We have been working with local residents and community groups in Cardonald, Buckie and Charleston to find out what people need to live healthier and happier for longer. Alongside our partners, we are now testing these products and services and we want to invite you to join us to ask questions, help co-design and test new ideas, so together we'll learn what it really takes to develop thriving, healthy neighbourhoods of the future.

Many factors can impact our wellbeing, so we are interested in exploring ideas and testing out services that will help people to age well in the place they call home.

We have split our work into 5 key areas that can more broadly be thought of as your enjoyment of your home, how you remain connected with others and how you maintain or improve your health & wellbeing. You can read more about particular products and services offered to support Project Themes.

Where are we based?

Peoplehood map

Peoplehood is currently piloting approaches in:

  • CharlestonDundee - Blackwood is currently building 66 new Blackwood Homes in Charleston adding to our already considerable number in Dundee. This will give us a unique opportunity to not only explore the Peoplehood project but also play an active role in shaping it from the very foundations.
  • CardonaldGlasgow - Cardonald is home to our Belses Care Home and a small number of homes, surrounded by a large mixture of private, council and owned homes . Here, we are looking at how we can integrate the programme and it's findings with an already established community.
  • Buckie, Moray - Buckie is the smallest of the 3 neighbourhoods, but with a strong community focus and has it's own unique challenges such as it's rural location, frequency of public transport and WiFi strength.
